Online Nervous System Support 1:1 Sessions

A flexible and robust nervous system is able to respond to stimuli, situations or experiences (even ones that are quite stressful) and settle back into a resting state relatively easily.

But when our systems are chronically overtaxed you may find it more difficult to cycle naturally through from activation to rest, leaving you feeling wired, tense or exhausted.

That’s where nervous system support sessions come in!

How this will work

Our session will be held over Zoom. I’ll check in with you about what you’re noticing right now and how you’d like to feel by the end of the session.

Remember, this is a nervous system support session, NOT coaching, so we we will NOT be diving into content, addressing particular issues/situations or processing trauma.

The focus is on helping you develop more range in your nervous system. Settling isn’t necessarily the goal. This is NOT about saying, “hey, just calm the f down (while the world around you is on fire)!” Rather, it’s about helping you develop more ways to access the full range of your nervous system (including settling and mobilizing when needed).

I’ll offer some somatic practices like orienting, resourcing, self holds, supportive virtual touch, movements, sounds or arrival or grounding exercises.

And of course, you get to choose what works for you!

What is Somatic Experiencing®?

Somatic Experiencing® is a body-oriented modality developed by Dr. Peter Levine that helps transform and heal stress and trauma. This gentle approach restores a sense of well-being and brings more ease and resilience in the body and nervous system.

What will I need?

You’ll need a laptop or computer with video camera or a phone or tablet and Zoom. You’ll need a quiet and private place where you can sit, move around a bit and potentially lie down. You might want to have a cuppa tea or some water, a blanket and pillows, a journal and favorite pen. Anything that makes you feel cozy, safe and comfortable like candles, essential oils or your favorite stuffed animal.

What if I have accessibility needs?

I’m happy to discuss ways we can make the nervous system support session more accessible for you or to discuss other modalities that might be more supportive. You can email me at hello @ jenniferayakolee.com to explore options.

Is this considered coaching or therapy?

No, these sessions with me are not considered therapy (I’m not a licensed therapist) and they are not considered coaching (even though I’m a certified coach). We are NOT working with content, a particular issue or goal and we are NOT processing trauma. Rather we will simply be tending to your nervous system through somatic practices.

What if I need more support?

The 1:1 online nervous system support sessions are meant to provide basic support to help you create more space and flexibility in your nervous system. These sessions are NOT designed to address particular issues or trauma recovery. If you find these sessions useful and are curious about more focused and intentional work, we can explore doing more in-depth 1:1 somatic, trauma recovery coaching together. The nervous system support session(s) can be a great launching pad into deeper, longer-term coaching and trauma recovery work.

About Jenn

Hi! I’m Jenn and I’m passionate about supporting folks to live more embodied and liberated lives.

I’m a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach with more than 23 years experience, a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner and a Certified Trauma Care Practitioner. I also have a certificate of completion from Linda Thai’s Somatic Embodiment and Regulation Strategies program.

I’m a recovering perfectionist/overachiever who has learned (and is still learning!) how important it is to slow down, listen to my body and honor my natural rhythms. In a world that values hyper-productivity and external achievements, that’s a radical act! Come join me!
